I chose to read chapters
13,14, and 15 for this assignment.
Chapter 13 talked about how to build up a child’s fluency. I wholeheartedly
believe that practice is the best way to achieve this. As the old
saying goes, practice makes perfect. Chapter 14 talked about the different
spelling stages. Chapter 15 is about
Phonics and Phonics instruction. With the breakdown on phonics, everyone can
be on the same page when we are discussing the title and the meanings. Something
I didn’t know before this reading was that the letter W can be considered a vowel.
How interesting.
I just recently found out I will be working with more small groups and a lot of these strategies I think would work really well! I'm excited to see how I can apply what I have learned from this book study in my new classroom!!
