Introduce yourself to the group.
- Hi! My name is Emily Hunt. I am a special education teacher. I teach a 12:1:1 2nd and 3rd grade class.
- I really enjoy reading the letters to George. It was interesting to hear the perspective from a first year teacher. The skilled and less skilled reading checklist was also very thorough and useful. I enjoy the diagrams and checklists.
- The science of reading impacts my instruction. We use a variety of materials to target specific science of reading areas. We use Writing Workshop and Heggerty for example. The diagnostic tests we give during the year help to determine what specific areas students need help with or what students do well. I'm looking forward to learning more about the Science of Reading in chapter 15.
